Webdocs "MY place has stories”

About the project

“Meu Lugar Tem História" is a web documentary series launched as part of the 6th edition of the Portuguese Language Olympics, produced through a partnership between Itaú Social and the Center for Studies and Research in Education, Culture and Community Action (Cenpec).

This compelling series features acclaimed Minas Gerais writer Conceição Evaristo, who was honored in this edition of the Olympics. Her testimony interweaves with the personal narratives of students Francisco, Ana Karolina, Brenda, Bianca, Isadora, and Adolfo, as well as teacher Alzeni - all notable participants from previous editions of the competition.

The documentary explores how reading and writing have opened new pathways for learning and opportunity in these individuals' lives. The title "Meu Lugar Tem História" (My Place Has History) directly connects with the Olympics' theme "O lugar onde vivo" (The place where I live), designed to encourage students to deepen their knowledge about local realities, strengthen community bonds, and develop civic engagement.

My contribution

As screenwriter and producer for the Francisco and Ana Karolina episodes of "Meu Lugar Tem História," I managed the complete production process for these segments of the web documentary series.

My role encompassed:

  • Establishing initial contact with the featured participants

  • Conducting pre-interviews to gather background information

  • Coordinating interview schedules with all subjects

  • Performing on-site interviews at various locations

  • Completing the process of interview transcription and analysis

  • Developing the final script structure for both episodes
